Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to Pakistan’s economic growth during his official visit to Islamabad. The visit marked his first in this capacity and focused on strengthening bilateral ties.

Sheikh Khaled met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, discussing economic collaboration and regional development. Both leaders emphasized transforming their strong political relationship into a robust economic partnership. The premier highlighted the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway project, noting its potential benefits for Gwadar and Abu Dhabi ports.

During the visit, Pakistan and the UAE signed five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in banking, mining, railways, and infrastructure. The agreements reflect the UAE’s growing investment interest in Pakistan, particularly in sectors vital for economic expansion.

President Asif Ali Zardari honored the crown prince with the “Nishan-e-Pakistan” in recognition of his efforts to enhance bilateral ties. The investiture ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr was attended by key officials and diplomats.

The crown prince, accompanied by a high-level delegation, landed at Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan Airbase, focusing on investment-driven discussions. His visit underscored the UAE’s consistent support for Pakistan’s economic development and future cooperation.
