Two Men Arrested in London Over Alleged Hezbollah Links

Two men, aged 39 and 35, were arrested in London on suspicion of terrorism-related offenses linked to Hezbollah, a group designated as a terrorist organization by the UK. The arrests were made by the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command as part of an ongoing investigation into Hezbollah’s activities, both in the UK and overseas.

The 39-year-old man, arrested in north-west London, faces charges of being a member of a proscribed organization, preparing for acts of terrorism, and involvement in terrorism funding. The 35-year-old man, arrested in west London, is also suspected of being connected to a banned group.

Searches were conducted at five addresses across London and Essex. The two men were released on bail pending further investigation, which is set to continue until mid-July. The police emphasized there is no current threat to the public from this investigation.

Commander Dominic Murphy of the Metropolitan Police stated that the global reach of terrorist organizations can impact local communities and that authorities will take strong action against any individual involved in terrorism-related activities, regardless of where it occurs.
