Starlink Internet Services Poised to Launch in Pakistan

At the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman, Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, met with the Starlink team to discuss expanding Pakistan’s digital connectivity. The focus was on enhancing affordable broadband access, especially in underserved areas, to help bridge the digital divide.

Rehman confirmed that Starlink’s registration with Pakistan’s satellite regulatory body is underway, which is a crucial step for receiving a PTA license for satellite-based internet services. Both parties also discussed the regulatory frameworks and strategies needed for integrating Starlink’s satellite services in Pakistan.

Starlink, which provides satellite-based internet, is expected to offer three packages: Residential, Business, and Mobility. The Residential Package, offering speeds of 50-250 Mbps, will cost Rs35,000 per month, with a one-time hardware installation fee of Rs110,000. The Business Package will be priced at Rs95,000 per month, plus Rs220,000 for installation. The Mobility Package will cost Rs50,000 per month, with a one-time charge of Rs120,000 for the hardware.

Starlink’s entry is expected to enhance Pakistan’s digital infrastructure, promoting economic growth and inclusion.
