ISLAMABAD – Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss Pakistan-China relations, counter-terrorism cooperation, and economic collaboration.
The prime minister conveyed warm greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, congratulating them on the successful conclusion of the “Two Sessions” of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He expressed gratitude for China’s unwavering support on Pakistan’s key issues and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.”
Discussions also covered security cooperation and counter-terrorism measures. The prime minister emphasized Pakistan’s focus on improving macroeconomic indicators, prioritizing exports, employment, and agriculture to revive the economy. He assured that the government would act as a facilitator, creating a conducive environment for local and foreign investment.
During the meeting, the business community expressed confidence in the government’s policies, lauding initiatives like the National Seed Development Authority and the Green Pakistan Initiative. The prime minister underscored the importance of business-driven economic growth and assured continued support for trade and investment to accelerate national development.
