Saudi Riyal to PKR Exchange Rate Sees Slight Increase

Karachi – The exchange rate of the Saudi Riyal (SAR) against the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) saw a slight rise on Thursday, March 13, 2025. In the open market, the buying rate stood at Rs74.65, while the selling rate reached Rs75.05, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan.

The Saudi Riyal, abbreviated as SAR or SR, is the official currency of Saudi Arabia, with one Riyal further divided into 100 halalas. Based on the latest exchange rate, 1,000 SAR is equivalent to Rs74,650 in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Pakistan received $3.1 billion in remittances from overseas workers in February 2025, marking a 3.8% increase compared to January 2025. On a yearly basis, remittances surged by 38.6%, up from $2.25 billion recorded in February 2024, as per data from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Among the sources of remittances, Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia contributed the highest amount, sending $744.4 million in February 2025. This reflects a 2.21% increase from the previous month and a 37.88% rise compared to the same period last year.
