As Pakistan prepares for Ramadan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Peshawar on February 28, 2025, to confirm the sighting of the Ramadan moon. However, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that cloudy weather conditions in KP, including Peshawar, may make moon sighting difficult.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting is scheduled for 6:30 PM, with Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad announcing the final decision based on testimonies from regional committees. If the moon is sighted, Ramadan will begin on March 1, 2025. However, SUPARCO has predicted that the moon may not be visible on February 28, suggesting that Ramadan in Pakistan might start on March 2 instead.
Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, may begin Ramadan on March 1 if the crescent is sighted there on February 28. Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to fall on March 31, subject to the Shawwal moon sighting. The final confirmation will come from the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after evaluating moon sighting reports.
