Qaumi Bachat Lowers Behbood Savings Certificates Profit Rate for March 2025

ISLAMABAD – The Central Directorate of National Savings (Qaumi Bachat Bank) has reduced the profit rate for Behbood Savings Certificates for the second time in a month. The revised rates will be effective from February 25, following an earlier revision on January 31.

Launched in 2003, Behbood Savings Certificates were introduced to support widows and senior citizens by offering a steady monthly income. In 2004, the scheme was extended to disabled individuals and special minors through their guardians. These certificates remain a popular investment option due to their stable returns.

The certificates are available in denominations of Rs5,000, Rs10,000, Rs50,000, Rs100,000, Rs500,000, and Rs1,000,000. Eligible buyers include Pakistani citizens aged 60 and above, widows who have not remarried, disabled individuals with an NIC disability logo, and special minors under a guardian’s care. A single investor can invest up to Rs7.5 million, while joint investors can invest up to Rs15 million.

As per the latest revision, the new profit rate for Behbood Savings Certificates is set at 13.58%. This means an investor can earn Rs1,131 per month on an investment of Rs100,000.
