President Zardari to Address Joint Session as New Parliamentary Year Begins

ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari will address the joint session of Parliament today, marking the start of the new parliamentary year. The session is scheduled to begin at 3 PM.

Strict security measures have been implemented at Parliament House, with enhanced checking at entry points. The National Assembly Secretariat has restricted guest entry, while media personnel will be allowed in limited numbers.

High-ranking officials, including Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Army Staff Gen Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, have been invited to attend.

During his speech, President Zardari is expected to outline the government’s key achievements and set priorities for the coming year, particularly focusing on economic progress. Ahead of this address, he had sought a report on the government’s performance to incorporate into his speech.

This session provides an opportunity for the president to highlight national progress and upcoming plans, offering insights into the government’s vision for the future
