Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, for a two-day official visit aimed at enhancing bilateral trade, energy cooperation, and cultural exchanges between the two nations.

Upon arrival, he received a warm welcome from Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, along with senior officials, including Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Pakistan’s envoy Ahmed Farooq. A contingent of the Uzbek armed forces presented a ceremonial salute.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed admiration for Uzbekistan’s rich history, cultural heritage, and strong ties with Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of expanding economic cooperation and strengthening regional connectivity through mutually beneficial partnerships.

During his visit, the Prime Minister paid tribute at the Independence Monument, acknowledging the resilience of the Uzbek people and reaffirming the shared vision for peace and prosperity. He was also briefed on Uzbekistan’s 3000-year history and national heroes.

The visit includes high-level discussions focusing on trade, investment, and regional collaboration, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to deepening diplomatic and economic relations with Uzbekistan.
