PM Shehbaz Honors Armed Forces on 6th Anniversary of Operation Swift Retort

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the Pakistan armed forces on the sixth anniversary of Operation Swift Retort, recognizing their bravery, professionalism, and sacrifices in defending the nation.

On February 27, 2019, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) successfully shot down two Indian fighter jets, thwarting a border violation. Indian pilot Abhinandan was captured during the operation but was later released on humanitarian grounds.

In his message, PM Shehbaz emphasized that PAF’s response six years ago sent a clear message that Pakistan is fully capable of defending its borders. He praised the armed forces for their unwavering commitment to national security, stating that their sacrifices will always be remembered.

He reiterated that Pakistan stands for regional peace, but any attempt to threaten its sovereignty will be met with a united national response.
