SOHAR – Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan explored trade and investment opportunities during his official visit to Oman’s industrial hub, Sohar. His discussions focused on strengthening bilateral trade and industrial collaboration between Pakistan and Oman.
The Minister visited Sohar Port and Free Zone, where he was received by H.E. Mohammad Al Shizawi, CEO of Sohar Freezone, along with senior officials. He was briefed on Sohar’s role in global trade, handling 80% of Oman’s industrial activities. He also toured various industrial clusters and discussed expanding Pakistan’s trade routes through Sohar to Central Asia and China.
Later, he met H.E. Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) officials to explore joint ventures in key sectors. Business leaders from both countries engaged in talks to enhance economic cooperation.
Concluding his visit, the Minister toured the city and prayed at the Sultan Qaboos Mosque, emphasizing Pakistan’s strong cultural ties with Oman. His visit marks a significant step in deepening economic relations, with further meetings scheduled in Muscat.
