Pakistan Backs Arab League’s Stand Against U.S. Gaza Plan

JEDDAH – Pakistan has expressed full support for the Arab League’s proposal to counter U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, speaking at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Jeddah, reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Dar called on Israel to halt its actions in Gaza and adhere to international laws. The OIC summit, initiated by Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Iran, and Pakistan, strongly opposed any efforts to displace Palestinians, labeling them as ethnic cleansing and violations of international law.

The summit also rejected Trump’s Gaza plan, warning that it threatened regional stability and state sovereignty. Member nations condemned Israel’s policies of forced displacement, illegal settlements, and demographic changes in Palestinian territories.

Reaffirming Palestine’s centrality to the Muslim world, the OIC called for a sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. It also demanded Israel withdraw from all occupied Palestinian territories and uphold UN resolutions, including the right of Palestinian refugees to return.

The OIC emphasized its commitment to a fair and lasting peace in the region, condemning Israel’s military actions and restrictive policies in Gaza and the West Bank.
