Health experts have warned of a worrying increase in respiratory illnesses across Karachi.
According to Sindh’s health department, 248 cases of respiratory diseases were reported by February 13, with the majority being cases of Influenza H1N1.
Among the reported cases, 99 were recorded in private hospitals, while Dow University Hospital confirmed 20 cases. Additionally, there were 95 cases of Influenza A and B, 8 cases of COVID-19, 15 cases of rhinovirus, and 2 cases of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
Health officials have advised citizens to wear face masks, wash hands frequently, and avoid unnecessary contact with infected individuals.
