PESHAWAR – To control profiteering during Ramazan 2025, the Peshawar district administration has fixed the prices of milk and yogurt and directed shopkeepers to display official price lists prominently.
As per the new rates, buffalo milk with 6% fat will be sold at Rs220 per liter, while buffalo milk with 5% fat is priced at Rs190 per liter. Similarly, cow milk with 4% fat has been set at Rs190 per liter.
For yogurt, the price of A+ category has been fixed at Rs240 per kilogram, whereas A category yogurt will be available for Rs210 per kilogram. These rates will be enforced from the first day of Ramazan.
Despite these official price controls, shopkeepers have reportedly increased the prices of other essential commodities, including fruits and pulses, ahead of the holy month. The administration has warned businesses to comply with the fixed rates to prevent inflationary pressure on consumers.
