ISLAMABAD – Police have arrested the main suspect involved in assaulting and robbing women in Islamabad’s F-9 Park. The incident, which occurred on February 23, sparked outrage after a video of the attack went viral on social media.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Jamal, along with his accomplices, robbed the victims of 10 tolas of jewelry and Rs2 million in cash before physically assaulting them. The attack took place in front of a well-known food outlet in the park, where the perpetrators were seen dragging the women by their hair.

An FIR was registered at Margalla Police Station under charges of robbery and assault. Following his arrest, the suspect was sent on a three-day physical remand, during which the stolen items were recovered.

Islamabad Police confirmed that Jamal has now been presented in court and sent to jail on judicial remand. Authorities have assured strict legal action against those involved, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring public safety.
