Lahore, Punjab to Experience More Rain and Isolated Hailstorms

LAHORE – The Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rain, gusty winds, and isolated hailstorms in Lahore and several parts of Punjab on Friday evening and night. A strong westerly wave affecting most parts of Pakistan is expected to persist over upper regions until the evening of February 28.

The expected weather conditions include rain and strong winds in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Gujrat, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, and Sheikhupura. Snowfall is also predicted in Murree and Galliyat.

By Saturday, dry weather is anticipated in most parts of Punjab, while shallow fog may develop in central and southern areas. Murree and Galliyat may experience partly cloudy weather with light rain.

Lahore’s temperature is expected to range between 13°C and 15°C over the weekend, while Murree recorded the lowest temperature in Punjab at 0°C. Relative humidity in Lahore was measured at 95% in the morning.

Over the past 24 hours, widespread rain and gusty winds were recorded in Punjab, with Murree receiving the highest rainfall (65mm), followed by Gujrat (51mm) and Narowal (41mm).
