In the first semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Australia won the toss and elected to bat against India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Australia has made two changes to strengthen their spin attack, bringing in Cooper Connolly and Tanveer Sangha in place of Matt Short and Spencer Johnson. Meanwhile, India has retained the same playing XI.
After winning the toss, Australian skipper Steve Smith stated, “The pitch looks dry and should assist spinners. India is a strong side, and we enjoy competing against them.”
Indian captain Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, mentioned that the pitch conditions have varied in previous matches at this venue. “We were prepared for both scenarios. The pitch behaves differently each time, so we are going with the same team,” he said.
The second semi-final of the tournament will take place in Lahore tomorrow.
