DUBAI – The crescent moon for Ramadan 2025 is set to be sighted in the UAE on Friday, February 28 (Shaaban 29). This year marks a rare occasion where the entire Muslim world, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Pakistan, India, the US, the UK, and several other countries, will likely begin fasting on the same day.
If the moon is sighted on Friday, the first fast will be observed on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Otherwise, Ramadan will commence on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
Sehar and Iftar timings hold great significance during Ramadan. The fasting schedule for Dubai has been released, guiding residents on when to begin and break their fast.
For those living in Abu Dhabi, four minutes should be added to the Dubai timings, while residents of Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain must deduct four minutes. In Sharjah, one minute should be deducted, while Ajman and Fujairah residents need to subtract six minutes from the given schedule.
Muslims in the UAE and worldwide are preparing for the spiritual month with devotion, prayers, and community gatherings.
