David Miller Smashes Fastest Century Record in ICC Champions Trophy 2025

LAHORE – South African batsman David Miller set a new Champions Trophy record by scoring the fastest century in tournament history during the second semi-final against New Zealand at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Miller broke Virender Sehwag’s 23-year-old record by reaching his century in just 67 balls, surpassing the previous 77-ball record set by Sehwag in 2002. Earlier in the tournament, Australia’s Josh Inglis had equaled Sehwag’s record by scoring a century off 77 balls against England.

Despite Miller’s unbeaten 100 off 67 balls, which included 10 fours and 4 sixes, South Africa fell short while chasing New Zealand’s 362-run target, finishing at 312/9 and losing by 50 runs.

With this victory, New Zealand secured a place in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final, where they will face India on March 9 in Dubai.
