BANNU – Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir visited Bannu Cantonment to review the security situation following a foiled terrorist attack by TTP militants, according to ISPR.
During the visit, COAS Munir was briefed on ongoing military operations and met soldiers injured in the attack at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Bannu, commending their bravery and resilience.
Army’s Commitment Against Terrorism
General Munir condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with the families of civilian victims. He assured that the Pakistan Army would continue to hunt down the perpetrators, including their planners and facilitators.
He highlighted that terrorists were using foreign weapons, pointing to Afghanistan as a safe haven for such groups. He reaffirmed that the armed forces would not allow any force to destabilize Pakistan and emphasized the importance of national unity in counterterrorism efforts.
Upon arrival, COAS Munir was received by Corps Commander Peshawar. He concluded his visit by reaffirming the army’s commitment to eliminating terrorism and ensuring peace and stability in the country.
