DUBAI – India secured the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing a 252-run target, India achieved victory with six balls to spare. Skipper Rohit Sharma led from the front with a match-winning 76, supported by *Shreyas Iyer (48), KL Rahul (34), Shubman Gill (31), and Axar Patel (29)**.
For New Zealand, Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner claimed two wickets each, while Kyle Jamieson and Rachin Ravindra took one each. Rohit Sharma was named Player of the Match, while Rachin Ravindra won the Player of the Tournament award.
Earlier, after choosing to bat first, New Zealand posted 251/7 in their 50 overs. Daryl Mitchell (63) and Michael Bracewell (53) anchored the innings, while Glenn Phillips (34) and Rachin Ravindra (37) made crucial contributions. Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy took two wickets each for India.
With this victory, India added another Champions Trophy title to their collection, showcasing a dominant performance throughout the tournament.
