Opposition Alliance Plans Anti-Government Protests After Eid-ul-Fitr

PESHAWAR – A grand opposition alliance, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has announced plans to launch an anti-government movement after Eid-ul-Fitr. PTI leader Shibli Faraz stated that all opposition parties would unite to protest against the government, criticizing its policies and governance.

Speaking outside a Peshawar court, Faraz claimed that laws like PECA and the 26th Amendment were passed undemocratically. He also accused the government of wasting billions on advertisements while failing to achieve meaningful progress. He criticized the expansion of the federal cabinet, alleging that it rewarded turncoats and traitors.

Faraz highlighted growing concerns, including rising terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, Sindh’s struggle for water rights, and increasing inflation. He emphasized that PTI’s alliance with opposition parties would strengthen in the coming days, leading to coordinated protests after Eid.

Meanwhile, the Peshawar High Court extended the protective bail of PTI leaders, including Shibli Faraz, Babar Saleem Swati, and others. The court directed them to review the federal government’s submitted report before proceeding further with their cases. The hearing was adjourned for a later date.
