Influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate are now the subject of a criminal investigation in Florida, following an announcement from state Attorney General James Uthmeier on March 4, 2025. Uthmeier instructed the state’s law enforcement to carry out a preliminary inquiry into the brothers, who arrived in Florida on February 27 after Romania lifted their travel ban.
The Tates, known for their controversial views and massive online following, are already facing legal troubles in Romania. They are accused of running a criminal network that exploited women for sexual purposes. Andrew Tate faces additional charges of rape. The brothers, both dual US-British citizens, are notorious for their misogynistic content and have been banned from multiple social media platforms due to their hate speech.
Romanian authorities arrested the Tates in December 2022, and the formal charges were made in 2024. A parallel investigation in the UK also involves accusations of rape and human trafficking. Despite the serious charges, the Tates deny all allegations. Florida’s investigation has now expanded with subpoenas and search warrants aimed at uncovering further evidence.
