Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370’s disappearance remains one of aviation’s greatest mysteries. The Boeing 777, carrying 239 passengers, vanished on 8 March 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Despite two extensive search operations covering 120,000 sq km of the southern Indian Ocean, the wreckage remains largely undiscovered. Only three confirmed wing fragments have been found along the African coast and nearby islands.
Now, exploration company Ocean Infinity has deployed ships to resume the search, though Malaysia is yet to finalize the official contract. The search will operate under a set timeframe, not indefinitely, according to Transport Minister Anthony Loke. The 2018 investigation suggested the plane’s controls were likely manipulated to go off course, but without the black box or wreckage, the cause remains uncertain.
The renewed search offers hope to families still seeking closure, with expectations that advanced technology might finally uncover the fate of MH370.
