Mustafa Kamal, Hanif Abbasi Among New Ministers in Federal Cabinet

The coalition government has decided to expand the federal cabinet by inducting four to five new ministers, including Mustafa Kamal.

According to sources, the expansion aims to strengthen the government’s representation across different political parties. Hanif Abbasi and Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry from PML-N, Khalid Magsi from the Balochistan Awami Party, and Mustafa Kamal from MQM are expected to join the cabinet.

The swearing-in ceremony for the new ministers is scheduled for February 27, 2025. As per reports, Hanif Abbasi is likely to be appointed as Minister for Railways, while Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry is expected to head the Ministry of National Health Services. Khalid Magsi is anticipated to take charge of the Ministry of Communications, and Mustafa Kamal is expected to lead the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Currently, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui holds the Science and Technology portfolio along with the Ministry of Federal Education. However, sources confirm that he will continue overseeing the education ministry.

This cabinet expansion is seen as a major political move, ensuring that different factions within the ruling alliance are accommodated in key ministerial roles.
