UAE Reduces Working Hours for Private Sector During Ramadan 2025

The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced a two-hour reduction in daily working hours for private sector employees during Ramadan 2025, expected to begin on March 1 or 2.

The ministry shared the update on social media, stating that companies can implement flexible or remote work arrangements while adhering to the daily work-hour limits. This adjustment aims to facilitate fasting and create a more comfortable working environment during the holy month.

Additionally, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has issued guidelines for federal employees, setting official working hours from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, and from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Fridays. Government departments will also allow up to 70% of employees to work remotely on Fridays, following approved regulations.

The initiative reflects the UAE’s commitment to supporting employees in both the public and private sectors during Ramadan, ensuring a balance between productivity and religious observance.
